APC ensures that readers worldwide have unrestricted access to published research.

Payment of APC does not influence editorial decisions.

• The editorial team does not have access to payment information during peer review.
• APC is requested only after final acceptance of a manuscript.

Submission, peer review, and editorial decisions are completely independent of financial considerations.
