Journal of Modern Medical Science (JMMS)

ISSN (Print): 3079-3920 | ISSN (Online): 3079-3939

Publisher: Kuwait Scientific Society

  1. Purpose of Crossmark

The Journal of Modern Medical Science (JMMS) is committed to maintaining the integrity and reliability of the scholarly record. To ensure transparency and provide readers with the most current and authoritative version of an article, the journal supports the Crossmark initiative (by Crossref).

Crossmark enables readers to verify whether they are viewing the most up-to-date version of a published article and to access information regarding corrections, updates, retractions, or other publication status changes.

  1. Version Control and Updates

All published articles represent the Version of Record (VoR). If post-publication changes are required, they will be handled transparently in accordance with COPE guidelines and Crossref standards.

Possible updates include:

  • Corrections (Erratum or Corrigendum)
  • Addendum
  • Expression of Concern
  • Retraction
  • Withdrawal (pre-publication stage)

Each update will be linked to the original article and assigned its own DOI where applicable.

  1. Commitment to Publication Integrity

JMMS ensures that:

  • Changes to published articles are clearly identified and documented.
  • No silent corrections are made to the Version of Record.
  • Readers are informed of the nature and reason for any update.
  • Retractions clearly state the reason and are not removed from the journal archive.

All updates follow COPE flowcharts and ethical publishing best practices.

  1. Metadata Transparency

Through Crossmark and Crossref metadata, the journal may provide additional information about published articles, including:

  • Publication history
  • Funding information
  • Competing interests
  • Peer review status (if applicable)
  • Licensing details
  • Data availability statements

  1. Long-Term Archiving

JMMS ensures the long-term preservation of published content through digital archiving systems and DOI registration to maintain permanent access and citation reliability.

  1. Reader Assurance

By implementing Crossmark standards, JMMS assures readers, researchers, and institutions that:

  • The content they access is current and verified.
  • Any changes to the scholarly record are transparent.
  • Editorial integrity is maintained at all times.
